Using Clearbore Bore Cleaner in Larger Flow Water Bores
DIESEL
Determine the amount of Clearbore required using the Dosage Table on this
site. Mix with water and pour the Clearbore solution into the bore. Surge
the water in the bore by using the engine throttle. Surge as much as
possible over a 12-hour period making sure no water is discharged. When
the cleaning process is finished pump the treatment water to waste.
ELECTRIC
Follow the instructions as for a diesel engine; checking first on the number
of starts per hour the electric motor is limited to. Clearbore is a very
efficient chemical. Start the surging process immediately the chemical
is in the bore.
NO PUMP IN BORE
Determine the required amount of Clearbore using the Dosage Table. Mix
with water and pour the Clearbore solution into the bore. Using a drilling
rig with a surge block or brush, surge or brush the bore for 6 hours
then pump the treatment water to waste. Alternatively place an airtight
cap on the bore with an air gauge and an air valve. Pump air into the
bore until the required pressure is reached then release the air. Repeat
this procedure 6 times an hour for 12 hours.
The aim is to use the movement of the Clearbore-charged water through the screen and gravel pack to dissolve the iron build-up. To ascertain the correct pressure divide the depth of water above the screen by 0.1593 (bar) eg 25 metres divided by 0.1593=156.9 kPa.
